Drug Discovery
In recent decades, the growing number of antibiotic-resistant pathogens drives the need to develop agents with a unique mode of action. Antimicrobial Peptides (AMPs) are an important model for the design of novel antibiotics due to their broad-spectrum antimicrobial potency. Our group's goal is to develop new antimicrobial agents that combine the potency of AMPs with the damage caused by metal ion imbalances.
